报告题目:Impacts of wildfire on soil biogeochemistry in boreal environments
报告人:KajarKöster
个人简介:Adjunct professor KajarKöster is currently working as University Researcher at University of Eastern Finland (Joensuu, Finland) dealing with interactions of different disturbances and atmosphere. Currently, his main research topics are dealing with different disturbances (fire, wind, reindeer grazing, etc.) in boreal forest ecosystems, and how these disturbances are affecting different biogeochemical processes in these ecosystems. Within last seven years he has been intensively studying the short- and long-term effects of forest fires on the stability of carbon pools in boreal forests (both permafrost and non-permafrost soils), with focus on post-fire changes in soil greenhouse gas emissions and soil microbiome.
报告内容:Overview of the fire dynamics through entire boreal forest area, differences between North-America, Asia and Scandinavia (including key definitions and fire types); Short- and long-term effects of forest fires on the energy balance of both permafrost and non-permafrost soils; Direct and indirect effects of forest fires on different soil properties (soil chemical, physical and biological conditions), and how they affect biogeochemical cycles (special focus to the carbon cycle).
